On Saturday, April 10, 2010, Woodcock Limited of Pennsylvania will join with the Col – Mont Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation in assisting the Pennsylvania Game Commission with tree planting on State Game Lands 325, outside of Hughesville, Pa. We are planning to meet at the Hughesville McDonalds on Route 405 just south of Hughesville. The McDonalds is just past the Route 405 intersection with Boak Avenue and is readily visible and easy to find. The actual planting area will be about a 10 minute drive from the McDonalds. The work will involve the planting of tree seedlings, so participants are asked to bring proper work clothes, gloves, and boots. In addition, tree planting bars should be brought if any volunteers have them. To keep abreast of this work day, please check our website, wlofpa.org. Interested parties may also contact the WL of PA Habitat Coordinator, Mike Kotay, at (717) 273-1117 (after 6:00 PM on any day) or by email at [email protected]. Our annual workday with the Col-Mont Gobblers and the PGC has always been quite rewarding--and has always been a good time! Food and refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the work, which is usually over by mid-day.

There will be other opportunities for individuals and groups to assist us with habitat work in the near future. Please check our web page for other dates and times or feel free to contact Mike Kotay with any questions.

Please note, there has been a location change for this project:

CHANGE IN LOCATION for WOODCOCK LIMITED WORK DAY

On Saturday, April 10, 2010, Woodcock Limited of Pennsylvania will join with the Col – Mont Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Pheasants Forever in assisting the Pennsylvania Game Commission with tree planting at the PP&L Montour Preserve just off PA Route 54 near Washingtonville Pennsylvania. The work will involve the planting of tree seedlings, so participants are asked to bring proper work clothes, gloves, and boots. If any volunteers have tree planting bars they should be brought to the work day. We are planning to meet at 8:00 AM at parking Lot 5 within the Preserve. Parking Lot 5 is located about 1.5 miles north of the Village of Exchange along the Muncy – Exchange Road.

It should be noted that this work will take place in Montour County, and not in Lycoming County as was originally planned. Lunch will be served at the conclusion of the workday. It's a great time--and productive. Hope to see you there!
