Hello all been awhile since I posted anything. I've got a dilemma on my hands I'm torn between buying a new 17 hornet mainly used for predator hunting. I'm looking a thing either getting a savage 25 in walking varmiter or a cz 527. I know the savage had cycling problems a few years ago but heard that has since been fixed. And I heard they are both shooters just looking for any reviews or feedback on either gun. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking at the CZ 527 myself but in .22 Hornet......I've handled a couple of them and I think they feel great .....also supposed to be great shooters......I just need to get over the magazine sticking out like it does other than that I think its a great rifle......I know the savages shoot great I just cant get into them

I have the walking in 222 and the cz in 22 hornet like them both. If I had to choose I would look at the CZ very seriously. Just my opinion.

Don't forget you can get an Encore barrel from MGM and E. A. Brown. My E. A. Brown barrel that they have on the shelf Is really accurate.. MGM not only has the 17 Hornet but also the 17WSMRF barrels,

i would go with the CZ very nice..
one thing i found to be a draw back with the 25 savage it feels and looks like an over sized rim fire bolt.
Because of that i was never sold on one. i did like the thumb hole stock on it but once i looked over the bolt i was personally disapointed.

CZ

I have a CZ 527 American in .204 Ruger with the green laminate stock that not only looks way cool, but shoots .5 inch groups. As with .257 (poster above), the only thing I dislike is the magazine which makes it harder to carry balanced in one hand.

I also have a CZ 452 in 22 WMR & a 452 Scout 22 lr I got for my son's first ever rifle when he was 12. Both have superlative wood and that little scout is the best shooting 22 lr in my stable! By the looks of their website, the newer 455 has replaced the 452 for the most part.

I can highly recommend CZ for quality, performance & pride in ownership.
