I'm going to trade in my SP-10 and I'm looking for a 12ga semi auto. I'm looking for somthing chambered in 3 1/2" but would also like to shoot at least 3" if not 2 3/4" as well. I looked at the Browing Maxus about 2 years ago and really liked it but the 3 1/2" only can shoot 3 1/2". I am also thinking about the Winhester sx3 and the Remington Versamax I have heard good things about both of the gun's. Any other sugestions in that price range or words of advice on the Sx3 and Versamax? I will be going Friday to look at them hans on but you can't tell ever thing just by looking Thak you.

I can't say enough about the SX3 that I bought last year. It was only $800.00 on sale a Gander Mountain. It shoots everything from target loads to 3 1/2. It worked even when my buddie's (dirty, admittedly) Benelli Super 90 jammed. I liked it so much I bought a Duck Blind Camo version as well.

you better do a little more research - you can shoot light loads from a Maxus. Just because it's chambered for 3 1/2 doesn't mean that's all you can shoot. It means you can shoot "up to" 3 1/2" shells

Quote from Brownings web site
"•Maximizing efficiency of the gas system to shoot everything from very light loads up to the heaviest 3 ½” magnum loads, without modification and without any extra stress on the mechanism"

Benelli Super Black Eagle II Hands Down!!

Mine has taken deer, ducks, pheasants, chukkars, specs, canadas, fox, rabbits, dove, ground hogs, raccons, and clays.

Truly one shot gun that does it all. I have a Pattern Master Exteneded Range choke plus the ones the come with it, clay, IC, Mod., Full, X Full.

I can break it down to the firing pin and clean the entire gun in 10-15 minutes. Few moving pieces and once you do it once or twice you can do it with your eyes closed, but keep them open while handling a firearm. I shoot everything from Estate 23/4" No. 8 to 31/2" Heavy Shot Steel BB for geese and 31/2" OO Buck for deer. It will be the last semi auto you buy.

I missed that you were selling the sp10. Seems like a good price but you are so far away! Someome wil get a great deal. Further thought...it is tough to argue against the Benelli Super Black Eagle II. Dick's has a camo version on sale this week for 1100. But I truly can't say enough good about the SX3. Winchester got this one right. And the action is SUPER quick. They also run frequent promos too. When I bought mine they had a sales tax rebate and I got a free jacket. Nice one too...good luck. And remember, the SBE2 is only $300 more than the Winnie!

I ended up getting the Browing Maxus. Tried the versamax ok. Tried the Bennelli Montefeltro just dident fell right in my hands + my dad has a Bennelli and it is always getting jamed. It came down to the Maxus and the SX3. I was temted with the SX3 becaues it was only $999 + $100 mail in rebate but it just felt cheap. I wish they wouldent have redesigned it to make it less exspensive. I happy with the Maxus. I got the camo one for the same as the plane black (not sure if it was missed tagged because the other 2 camo ones on the shelf were $100 more) and I got a $50 gift card for my next vist to Gander Mountain.
