Has anyone used this instead of lime. I was reading an article that said this is easier & cheaper for food plots. They say you spray it on with a back pack sprayer, which is alot easier than dragging bags of lime back to food plots. They say it will raise the ph better than lime.

Thanks for any insite on this.

I sprayed it on my lawn once. It was a thick sludge. Mixing it was a challenge. A number of people have told me it's kind of a waste of time. Think about it. How do they get an equivalent amount of lime into a liquid? With that said, it will work faster, but only for a brief period. If it was better why wouldn't farmers do it?

When I was a kid we used a hand-pushed broadcast spreader on the lawn and garden for lime and fertilizer.

They still make these.

If you Google "broadcast spreader" you will find examples.

Some are as cheap as $40.

And there are small spreaders for towing behind 4 wheelers.

You could probably also just slowly drive through the field with a pickup truck while someone uses a scoop to dig the lime out of a bucket and fling it out across the land. The redneck way, but it would probably work.
