My buddy Rick discovered this mushroom behind his barn. I was more than happy to share it with him. i've found this mushroom Hericium erinaceus(Lions Mane) and Hericium coralloides (Comb tooth mushroom) in the past. I've yet to find the Hericium americanum (Bear's head tooth) mushroom. It was the first time I seen one come up this time of year, first week of June. Lucky? yes, for those us who had the pleasure to tasting these
mushrooms know it. I had a log that produced for years until
it pulverized. I told my buddy not to do anything around that log. I'm curious to see when the next time it produces since this one came up in June. will see. I should mention that two others were on that log also.
