Setting season dates is probably one of the most thankless jobs you have every year. I will submit my comments to [email protected]
South Zone duck dates could be October 6,7 and 9 which will include the Columbus Day holiday. Then reopen on November 23rd which is Turkey Day and run till Saturday January 27th. 60 Shooting Days.
AP Goose Zone could open on November 23, 24 and 25. Then reopen on December 11 and run till January 27th. 45 Shooting Days.

So...this would hit the 3 major Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years day) that allow for the most opportunity for hunters. It also allows for ducks and geese to be hunted at the same time for the longest period available and still stay within the Fed Guidelines.

Every year AFTER the seasons are set in stone there are hunters who disagree with the dates, now is the time to make your voice heard! My proposals only include the South Zone ducks and the AP Goose Zone. How about you hunters to the North, are you satisfied with the proposed dates??

I kind of agree with the guys running it, as much as I would like to change dates the weather year to year seems to be what makes everybody think the timing is wrong.
I would like to see duck and goose seasons open at the same time.
That means closing duck in deer season or opening goose.

I was involved in one of the surveys prior to setting the seasons and regs.
Some of the questioning was interesting.
I feel they do as good a job as they can to keep the majority happy.
Not a lot of wiggle room within the frameworks set by the Feds.
