Wish I was! Have hunted that week or the next for the last 3 years and have done great. Skipping this year due to other hunts. Great luck to you, you'll love it.

First i hope loridr is doing better, from there id like to say I had a Great hunt at Lily Pond in Nov.Dock runs a first class operation.Food was terrific ,guides worked hard to put you on deer.I hunted 3 days which is 2doe and 1 buck,no restrictions. Not knowing what to expect and and not wealthy,my goal was to shoot deer!!! I harvested a nice doe the 1st morning,I saw what i thought was a 130-140 class buck but couldn't sneak a bullet in at him.(very thick cover).I shot a doe that nite.I saw a couple small buck on tuesday morning, and tried to hold out for a nice buck as i saw what others shot the previous days. The guide was coming at 10 am for the pickup and I had a fat buck with a 10'' spike on 1 side and a Y on the other at 9;45 and decided to take him( Ill try harder next time).Any way it was an awesome time and i will go back, not next year because of my daughters wedding,But i will be booking at the sportsman show for 2018!!!

i think i am going to Lily pond in the future. i went to SC and saw one doe which offered no shot. plenty of turkey and the boar have been a no show since the hurricane.

it wasnt the outfitter, it was obviously me :) everyone in camp was getting deer, seeing deer, deer, deer, deer. just not me, me, me :)

i sat in stands with acorns all around and a feeder 125 yards away with the wind in my face every day. i showered, i used scent killer gold, i wore scent blocker clothing and did i mention the wind was in my face not going anywhere near the deer or where they were suppose to be anyway :)

the weather was cool, no rain, no high winds. food and lodging was great.

i give the outfitter a 10 rating, did everything he could think of, checked and re-checked the trail cams, moved me when i wanted to be moved, moved everyone actually, he left the stand choices up to us after telling us what the trail cams showed. he also put me in earlier and picked me up later than usual. others in camp were getting deer, just not me :(

thats why its hunting and not shooting, i think i might be jinxed.

What is wrong with Loridr?
First, congrats to Ken66 on what sounds like a great Lily Pond hunt. My buddies John and Bob had a slow ML hunt there in early October, but are back there this week and seeing a lot of deer. Bob took a real nice 8 point Monday evening and they've passed on smaller bucks and are not shooting does (yet anyway).

Bohunr, wish you'd had a better hunt, sometimes luck just doesn't follow us around, sometimes it does. I didn't see where you said who in SC you were hunting with, doesn't sound like Deerfield though.

Now to me... I've had terrible luck this fall. Had a heart attack mid October and had two stents put in, then as soon as I was feeling better, I took a dump on my motorcycle on November 15th and broke my left knee. I was scheduled to be at Deerfield this week; instead I'm stuck in the house laid up. I didn't hunt deer one day this season.

Lo,

i was at red bluff lodge in allendale SC. real nice place, great all around. my son shot a 10 foot gator there in 2013 with a bow. thats when we decided we would be back for deer and boar. as i said, everyone was seeing deer and shooting deer, except me :(

my license is good for a full year. i bought it in late october 2016 its good until october of 2017, might go back in the spring for turkey and boar, might not :)

best of luck in your recovery
