I have talked to several dealers dropping them because of returns. What is up with Leupold?

I used to love their stuff but are hesitant on ordering a new one because of what I am hearing.... Anyone else hearing this?

Would like to know the dealers and what problems they are having with the optics, If the scope fails in any way you deal with Leupold not the dealer. Sounds fishy to me.

Several months ago I purchased a vx6 3x18x44. Put it on one of my 338s. Love it . It is so far above the vx3s that are on my other guns . I could not be happier.

I doubt its a quality issue. Probably more that the dealer is having problems competing with pricing from online sellers.

Good luck, Tony

Right on, Tony... I've bought 15 or 20 in the last twelve months and not a lick of trouble with any of them...those dealers complaining are full of crap....

I spoke with Euro Optic at the harrisburg show. Also, heard of issues at the philly show with a different scope dealer that was there.... They both said the same thing about quality issues. Also, at cabbalas in hamburg about a year ago and spoke with one of their guys. He said, it has turned to china junk. I have always been a leupold fan. I was/am thinking about the V6 line and are a little hesitant to drop $1,000 plus dollars on something that is having issues.

the only issue you'll have is if you dont buy one;

I believe someone was selling a Leupold clone, but you can verify it is authantic by calling Leupold with the make model and serial number to be sure.
I believe they even have a web site for that?

Eurooptic bad mouthing a product they sell? Sounds like a bad employee to me. As far as Cabelas....really? their employees are a revolving door and spew so much bad information I will never spend a penny at the sportsmen's five and dime. Had one of their optic specialists tell me one time Ruger did not make high scope rings....walked out never to return.
Here are the facts they are not secret.
From the Leupold website.

"Leupold uses foreign sourced components for some parts of Golden Ring products, primarily lenses. This is because at this time, there is no American manufacturer that can supply the quantity of high quality lenses that Leupold needs for its annual Golden Ring Optics production. Leupold’s lens systems are designed at Leupold, by American optical engineers, in its state-of -the-art optics lab and then procured from outside vendors who must meet stringent quality standards.

Incoming parts are carefully inspected in our testing facility before they are accepted into the assembly process. Incidentally, all major optics producers worldwide acquire some or all of their glass from the same sources as Leupold. Some of these sources are located domestically, some are European, and some are Asian. Leupold has acquired its lenses this way for over 50 years......

I have more Leupolds than I should admit, I only had a problem with one and it was a tracking problem, sent it back they fixed it and it has worked great since.

EuroOptic is a good company to deal with, I know a few of the guys that work there and have bought a lot of stuff from them, you have to understand though, they are a HIGH END DEALER, although Leuopld is a great product it's hard to put them on the same playing field as Schmidt bender, Nightforce and the higher end Swarovski. It would like be going to a Chevy Dealer, looking at a Corvette then asking about a Cruze, you betcha they aren't going to speak about both cars in the same terms.

Don't be afraid to stick with Leupold, they are proven and their service is second to none

I have heard of Leupold warning against the counterfeit ones that people are selling, but that isn't leupolds fault in any way.
For those who know me I go through more guns, scopes and toys in 6 months than most will buy in there lifetime. I have only had one problem with a leupold in my life it was a VXIII 8.5x25 target scope. it had parallax and it couldn't be adjusted out, I sent it back they replaced it no questions asked.

I know the Euro Optics guys also, top notch! They dont stock Leupold but can get them for you and price is fixed by Leupold. I find it pretty hard to believe one of their guys bashing Leupold! they go above and beyond and I will continue to buy from them also. Most of those guys forgot more than many guys really know!
We had a tracking issue before Bear season with a new Vortex and called Euro optics about it and within one hour a Vortex tech called us and our scope rings were not torques to the proper spec! Go get that service from Dicks-Dunhams or WHOEVER???? I think not.

Leupold and Euro Optics are WAY ABOVE TOP NOTCH! A+++ to both

surely a post to stir the kettle? no possible way to say someone has a problem with Leupold or Euro Optics as both go WAY out of their call of duty for customer satisfaction!

My next scope is going to be a 1.75x6 VX-3 for the 18"bbl 308 deer popper!
