I have a friend moving to Lebanon Co and he is concerned about hunting opportunities. So how's the hunting up there Archery? Waterfowl? Turkey? Not looking for anyone's secret spot just a general assessment.

Indiantown Gap Military Reservation is the place to go for many. Need to take a course and pay a fee, but much land is available.

Lot of State Game Lands hunting all over the county. Most get hunted hard. Private land hunting is getting harder to come by unless you know someone. IGMR is a great spot but you never know what area's are going to be open, can be frustrating hunting there.

Ft Indiantown Gap...it's not been IGMR for 20 years.

Game lands 211 just north of the gap is another good spot. More area than you can hunt in a day!

With Middle Creek Waterfowl area covering Lebanon/Lancaster Co., lots of waterfowl opportunities. Many farmers still permit waterfowl hunting with permission, you have to ask. Regs change as you get nearer to Middle Creek, so you need to study them. Take a chance and enter the draw for their blinds as well, not as good as years ago, but still fun.

Small game hunting is poor compared to 30 years ago. Pheasant are stocked on the Colebrook Game Lands and at Swatara State Park. Lots of squirrel in farmers wood lot.

Turkey is not open in the fall except in the northern area above 81. Lots of chances for spring gobbler.

Deer the best bet is the Gap or northern Game Lands (St. Anthony's Wilderness) along stony creek. Hunted hard, but get back off the roads (use a bike). Bear there as well.

Lots of very good sportsmen't clubs in the County, join one and you will pick up more tips. Welcome.
