Well we hunted really hard in gun season this year and braved the nasty weather that seemed to define this season and just couldnt get a deer in front of his gun this year. Finally this morning as we were walking in to our spot at 7:45 (I just got off work), 5 doe bust out of the woodline . Four went across the far side where we had no shot but for some reason one young one came out our side. I knew it was a long poke for that little 30-30 but I got him kneeling down and calmed his nerves enough to settle in for the shot. I was proud to say that at 180 yds he smacked her solid and she stumbled a few yards and went down. Obviously a young deer, but he couldnt be happier considering how hard he hunted and toughed it out this year. And you know how tender those young ones are. Melt in your mouth!

Congrats to Marshall for sticking it out when things weren't going so great. Pretty easy to give up and sit on the couch, but you can't get 'em from there. Way to go.
