I got 18 canine sets out earlier this week. Got a couple greys so far, and a few possum and coon. I delayed my check till 11 am today, as I wanted to sit in my climber for bear this morning. I got down at 10:30, swapped the 300 mag for the 22 pistol, and started my checks. The first 5 sets were in a reclaimed strip mine, and a friend of mine was in there bear hunting. He left at 10am, saw nothing. While heading in, I spot a coyote in a flat set. This dog was 150 yards in front of my buddy's box blind, in a plowed field. Unless he had eyesight like Mr. Magoo, it would have been impossible to miss him. From the time he left and I arrived, less than an hour had passed. I just missed seeing him get caught. There was no catch circle, and I had him by one toe pad. 37.6 lb male. He wasn't gonna be there long. I got some pics, but haven't figured out the Photobucket deal.
