Well, after a rather slow season for our group, we finally found an X for the last day. It turned out that the other guy that the farmer lets hunt was also planning to hunt there as well. Instead of competing to get to the field, we decided to hunt together and it worked out well.
The morning started out with a few small groups finishing and although they didn't hit the hole like we wanted them to, we were able to pull out 8 birds.
After some great venison loin and sausage on the grill in the field, we waited out the afternoon. The final flight happened late and it was fast and furious. Unfortunately, the changing skies and sunlight made it tough with the shadows and the birds finished right into our original hole and we had moved back to where they touched down in the morning. Can't win them all. The first single of the day was banded in 2002 in Wolf Bay Ontario as a nice bonus. It was a good day and nice to work with another group rather than against them.
