I worked a ladder test at 200 yds this past saturday. I only did to rounds of the ladder test.

Remington brass (from corlokts)
CCI LRP
4831sc
130gr NBT

I believe i have a node between 58-60gr.

What is the next step?
Do i work another ladder with smaller increments between 58-60gr or do i do the OCW test now?
or do i just shoot for groups?

Nevermind, I saw the update with the powder.

What I do is do a second ladder with .3 gr increments

Then take the best mode from that and load up enough to shoot 5 shot groups.

Then I take the best from that and move on to trying different OAL until I find that sweet spot. Then I am good to go with a load until I need a new bottle of powder then I have to back off a few grains and start again.

A lot of guys load 60 gr of H4831sc with 130 gr bullets. Chronos right around 3000 fps.
I have been using that load for over 30 years. It was Jack O'Connor's favorite load and it shoot good in every 270 I tried it in.

shot a round at 55, 55.5, 56, 56.5.......59, 59.5,60 then did it again starting at 60 down to 55.

had a node aroudn 56ish and one around 59.

OK Thanks. I never heard it described as a ladder load.

Try that H4831 load. It just seems to work.
