My first words to the lady who picked up the phone at TenPoint support this morning were "I gotta tell you i did something really stupid for a veteran shooter last night!" She burst out laughing and said she usually doesn't hear that admission. I told her that she was going to arrive at that conclusion after I told her the problem so I just wanted to get that out of the way up front. Anyway, knowing that last night may be the only chance I would get to hunt this week, I was in a hurry to get going and wasn't paying full attention to cocking my TenPoint Turbo XLT with the Accudraw. Before I realized that the safety was already on instead of in the fire position where it's supposed to be during cocking, I over cranked the string and got it locked up in the anti-dry fire mechanism. Now I've cocked the bow the correct way hundreds of times so this wasn't a new process. But that's what happens when you don't fully concentrate on what you're doing. Since I could click the safety on and off, I didn't realize the bow wouldn't fire until I returned to my SUV and tried to discharge an arrow after 3 1/2 hrs. in the treestand. Luckily I didn't see a shooter.

The lady at TenPoint told me what to do to fix the problem and volunteered to stay on the line while I did it ,but I was calling from work and told her I'd call again when I got home where I had the crossbow. I was happy to hear that I could probably undo my stupidity myself. The second call to Tenpoint, I was on hold waiting for support for no more than a couple of minutes when a gentleman got on the line with me and again, while I was on the cell phone with him, he walked me through the few steps I needed while I had my crossbow in hand. He couldn't have done better if he was standing beside me pointing at what to do. The most important step that I hadn't figured out was pushing down lightly on the horizontal pin on the front of the trigger box to release the anti dry-fire mechanism while slowly cranking the accudraw back. The man even stayed on the phone while I shot an arrow to be sure the trigger mechanism was working OK.

This is the first time I've had to contact TenPoint for customer support. I'm sure they're into the busiest time of the year. I was impressed with their prompt attention, good directions, and willingness to take as much time to talk as needed. I found out I'm not the only idiot in the crossbow village that has done this with an accudraw. I love the Turbo XLT crossbow and now have the highest regard for the company that makes them.

TenPoint is one of the best, if not the best in regards to Customer Service. Good deal.
