Do any of you guys ever do a couple day float at all? Me and my wife usually do an overnight float down the susquehanna. She will only do one night. There are usually about 10 of us. I am looking for a small creek like the penns to do a 3 night float on. The problem is finding places to camp. Alot of private property. Let me know if any of you do this and where. Thanks.

Pine creek. You can put in at Galeton or Wellsboro and float to Jersey Shore. There are several state and private campgrounds along the creek. The state ones are primitive with pit toilets but the private ones have hot showers and all the good stuff. The total length is about 80 miles, but there are several put in/take out places along the way, so you can adjust your trip from there.

I hiked the Black Forest Trail and West Rim Trail a couple years ago. We ended the BFT at Slate Run and you can take out or put in there. When hiking WRT we finished at Blackwell I believe and you can put in or take out there also.

French Creek, Crawford Co. From Meadville to the mouth at Franklin where it runs into the Allegheny. We see quite a few Kayakers going by our Cottage. Good Smallmouth fishing all along that stretch...

There are different kayak meet-up groups you can join that have planned events. I belong to the Pittsburgh and western Pa. kayak meet-up and they usually have a three day Allegheny river trip and camp on the islands along the way. Since your on the other end of the state do a search for a Kayak meet-up group in your area.

Adding to Pa.Bone's point of "meet-up" groups. Here's the Canoe Club of Greater Harrisburg's trip schedule. I've attended many of these events. Learned a lot & met many of great people. I know several folks from your neck of the woods that are members.

It's $20.00 per year for a club membership that applies to your household if you're interested.

The next over night trip is the Potomac River 'Camping' Weekend, it might be right up your alley.
