It was an inventory, but more a check on the what if. What if you had to replace some gear, if your working gear went down. Where would you find it as soon as possible and how long, if possible, would it take to get it? Was it even replaceable, especially if you had the product for years?

I've done the guns; the archery bows and accessories; the reloading; the fishing lures, now the fishing reels.

You find you need to go to a new retail company: one no longer exists or you moved. Products change; take on new names; even if the original company still exists.

The retailers in your area might not handle a product now, that is still sold somewhere else. The retailers have dropped selling a product line.

Luckily, there is the internet. You don't have to depend on local retailers, entirely. You can look up the existing manufacturers web site and new internet retailers. You can order it from elsewhere, but you won't know until you check.

The inventory was easy. Finding the what if answer, and a possible replacement was interesting. I even found a retailer that sold 20 Mule Team Borax, used in some of my homemade detergent. I hadn't seen that product in over twenty years.
