Holy cow...wife talked me into starting it and today was the first day and just the fitness test. What did I get myself into?

Hoping I can hang for the 60 days. I need to get in shape.

My wife and I did it. It will get you in shape. It isn't as bad after the first couple of weeks once you start to get used to it.
I've watched my boy do it. I was exhausted.
Day two in the books. Ouch. Climbing the two flights of stairs to get into my office this AM was quite the chore. Only 58 more days to got. Yee haa.......
It's my goal to be able to do it! I need to lose about 50lbs before I'm even going to attempt it though. It's my winter project for 2013-14.
Well, started the second week today. Going well other than eating the best that I can. Definitely feeling better, overall. Insanity is kicking my butt though.
How's it going? Still with it and noticing results?

I ordered Insanity and expect to get it sometime next week. I've been using www.nerdfitness.com as a starter hoping I won't be as sore when I start Insanity.

Good luck!
In the fifth week, recovery week, yeah, right,! Going good. Lost ten lbs so far, pants are way looser, can tell a difference looking in the mirror, feel so much better, my lower back doesn't hurt anymore...well worth the temporary pain so far. All that without really cutting back on food intake, just taking in better food. Still cheat on occasion but nothing too bad. Got to the point I feel guilty on the off days and I find myself hitting the treadmill for 3 to 4 miles and doing some push-ups and curls.

I'll report back when the max intervals start in 5 days. From what I read, the real pain will start then. Longer workouts, longer intervals and less rest period between intervals.

How long are the workouts in the first month? How long are they in the 2nd?

sledhead,
The workouts are anywhere from 38 min. to 42 min. in the first month but half way through, he throws in an extra workout onto the end of the Pure Cardio workout (probably the hardest workout) that pushes total time close to 1 hr. He adds Cardio Abs to the Pure Cardio workout. PC is so hard because after the extended warm-up and 5-6 min. stretch, it is 16 or so minutes of NON-STOP cardio, no breaks whatsoever, and they are difficult moves. My heart is at 90% of my MHR for the last 1/2 of the PC workout.
Lots of calories got burned on those days!

Almost all the workouts in month one (other than PC), had a long warm-up (which is difficult in its own right), a long stretch, then 3 interval circuits with a short 30 sec. break b/w circuits. From what I have read, the Max Interval circuits add another circuit and the exercises in each circuit are longer so most workouts get pushed to close to an hr each. Most of the reviews I read on Insanity, some people were disappointed at first in the first month wt. loss but they ended up getting great results after the second month.

There are two more Insanity workouts out there too:
Insanity; The Asylum and Insanity: The Asylum #2. Depending on how we do this month, the wife and I may look into getting them. There are only 30 day programs and more sports based but WAY more difficult, from what I read. The moves are much more technical and you need to use an agility ladder and some other equipment with them.

My Insanity just came in the mail yesterday. Guess my excuses are out the window and its time to go nuts.
Oh, now I get it. I thought you were talking about hereditary insanity. You know, they type you get from your children.
Ouch...started the full second month last night with the MAX interval training. It was as tough as everyone made it out to be!

On top of that, before we even started that, we had to do the fitness test so all in, I was working out for 1.5 hrs last night doing max cardio.... Felt like my heart was going to explode.
I can definitely see me shedding some pounds this month if I keep at it and stay on track.

Made it through the first week. Wasn't too sore. Sounds like I shouldn't look forward to the 2nd month.
Second month is horrible when you are trying to do it and you are sick. Have bad conjestion, head cold, headache, sore throat, aching all over felt like I was hit by a bus feeling...
Worked out yesterday, felt horrible, loaded up on NyQuil and just made it through the end of the Pens game before I passed out.

I am down 13.3 pounds though.
Down 17 lbs today after my workout. Month two with the almost full hour non-stop workouts really has those pounds melting off.

I am literally standing in a puddle of sweat after each workout and I down about a liter of water each workout.
Week two down. 2nd Fit test tonight. Don't know if I'll improve with more numbers but I know my form is better than the first time I did some of these moves.
