My friend just bought some land in Illinois and I'm trying to get more info on the non-resident permit/application process.

Anyone with experience can you please give some details on how the whole process works for both the archery, firearms and muzzloader applications?

You are correct that the Illinois DNR website is not very easy to get information out of. Firearm (shotgun) and muzzleloader deer permits are by county and non residents can't apply until the second drawing period. There is a deadline for the second lottery that seems to change every year. jumped through the Illinois hoops for 16 years but havent gone for the last two years so i looked and it seems like you can apply here:

Archery is a little less complicated. Wait till early june and go to that same link and you should be able to get it done.

( Be ready to part with between 800 and 900 if you plan to both bow hunt and gun hunt.

Good Luck!
