First off....no I am not for the ban, I hate it.

Second. This post is only to protect those that come here to get information so they don't go out spewing more false information. The, "I heard it on the Internet so it must be true," group.

New York did strengethen it's already existing assault weapons ban.

NO....this does not include your BROWN BESS or your "tube fed" shotgun....pistol grip/semi auto or not.

"It is only for semi-automatics with a detachable magizine that have one (1) other qualifier such as a bayonet lug, postol grip, etc, etc."

If you have ten round mags you can keep them but can only put 7 rounds in them.

You have to registered guns that meet the assault weapon description or sell them out of state.

Made it so ammunition sellers have to register and did a bunch more stuff...follow the link if you want more info

We can be just as dangerous to the cause if we do not take the time to educate ourselves.

Well put,
If we are not accurate, correct and concise in our posts, we are no better off than the biased media we rail against.

Posting rumors, innuendoes , half truths, feelings , etc simply hurt any cause.
Here is a tidbit of info for Ulster Count NY

Supporting obama's gun grab!

The storm continues and I am hoping we all don't go down with the ship.

Was there something else going around. Heck the facts are bad enough.
Read some of the other posts. It's there. That's all I'm saying.
Where does it say you can only load 7? thought you had 1 year to sell your magazines out of state.

Page one of my link under ammunition first paragraph.
Only the ten round mags can be loaded with 7 all else need turned in or sold?

That's the only part of it that I need to see. Register? Really?

As far as I know, you have to pass a BRC to buy ammo as well, but I'm not reading the dirt of the bill.

Besides, you can "own" a 10 round mag, but only load 7? That's like saying you can have a 15 gallon gas tank, but only fill it with 7, or you "own" a 6 shot revolver, but don't you dare load all 6 rounds!!! or else! What a joke. This is all for politicians to feel good about themselves. It does nothing to prevent gun crimes.

Registration is all I need to know. I will never set foot, nor do business in NY state. Ever.
Follow up:

To point out absurdity, let's just pretend I'm a criminal with ill will, would I say to myself as I own a "hi cap mag"....

"hummm.....I can load 15 rounds in this mag, but Chuck Schumer said I can only load 7 legally...so I better not..."

Need I say more?
i found that any state that starts with "new" i dont visit or want to be there.

Lol....new mexico seems to be ok
When the bad guys kick in the door in the middle of the night carry high capacity weapons with bad intention for ones wife and/or family the victim can always recite the NEW guns laws.
SteelStalker,

Thank you for pointing out the error! I assume you are referring to my post in another thread. I tried to edit my post, but apparently it is too late. I will notify a moderator.

I got that info from a "trusted" source in NY...............however, with your help, I have discovered that the "trusted" source, should not have been trusted afterall!

Please accept my sincere apology! I should have checked for myself, or at the least stated that it was heirsay.

I never intended to spread mis-information in any way!

Rut nut,

your post was just one of them, there were others as well. A lot of misinformation has been spewed and it is hard to sort out the truth. I did not post in other threads because my goal was not to shame anyone or put them down but to get the message out that we need to make sure we have our info correct. I hope you do not think that it was any personal attack against you because it was not intended to be.
Well said. Facts are Facts, but we can all agree that what NY is doing is unconstitutional, and I'd be moving regardless...Get a load of the taxes in NY? Crime? lack of prosperity? lack of liberty? Oh wait. . . .
That's right, the state is run by Democrats.
