this is just an idea here not sure if it would work or how well it would, but what about if you have an old blender or food processor or even a yard sale special and fill it up and hit the button not sure if it would be to fine or if it would heat up the machine. It would take a while. But like I said just a thought to through there.

or give the little guy a small hammer and let him go to town on them that would crush them and entertain him. two birds one stone.haha
