My son who is 2 just loves picking up acorns. So of course we have about a 5 gallon bucket full of them. I was thinking about taking them out to Ohio (since it is legal) but wanted to know if any of you guys crush them and if so how?

That's a lot of acorn hulls to remove... I don't really see the need to remove the hulls. However, do to disease transmission, moving acorns state to state like that may not be a good idea.

nuke them in the microwave-would kill disease and won't sprout
Five gallons in the microwave? Are you married?

If Ohio deer eat PA acorns, their racks will instantly shrink.

Here's an idea. Boil them in salt water. Dont crush them just spread them out.

this is just an idea here not sure if it would work or how well it would, but what about if you have an old blender or food processor or even a yard sale special and fill it up and hit the button not sure if it would be to fine or if it would heat up the machine. It would take a while. But like I said just a thought to through there.
