What are the regulations? A friend of mine owns a large stretch of land along 79 and having the ability to park roadside would make it easy to slip in and out. Do you maybe have to be pulled fully off the road into the grass, or just outside the white line?

usually a fencew along interstates, including I-79. cutting or bending it is illegal.

I see many people doing it. I think a PSP would write you a ticket for 'abandoning a vehicle', might just be a warning.

I know MD State Police allow you to park and hunt along INT70...You would have to check with the local state police barracks..More then likely they will allow you because the deer along the interstates cause alot of accidents.Probably only allow bowhunters because they wont want you shooting a rifle near the interstate.

I know you can park on the North East ext. of
the Pa. Turnpike.
It's a definite no no on Route 80.

I along with a boat load of other people park along I-81 near the Leb./Sch. county line. PSP has never done anything, it's be going on for years. There is an old dilapidated fence, but a blind man could find a hole to walk through.

Lots of guys in the PGH area do it. Put the old shopping bag in the window and roll it up and act like the car is broke down. You have at least 24 hrs until it gets tagged. The trooper who patrols the area will get wise to it I am sure but won't bother you, usually.

Last year on the first day of the firearm season a guy pulled in my Moms front yard totally off the road and walked right through her front yard and into the back here in the North Hills area... My uncle followed his tracks in the frost grass and told him he better leave... He explained how he was told by a guy at work it is OK to park/hunt here...
My uncle said fine with him but his car would be in a impound lot when he was done hunting... Some guys think the purchase license gives them all rights to trespass...

I know a couple guys who do that when they hunt certain places that aren't along main roads. They just don't want folks to know they are hunting there.
