By this time I have been harvesting Golden Chanterelles in my spots... Problem is this weather is just different this year... Pours down rain Monday night where I live.. I go out Tuesday and the woods are so dry... Only thing I'm seeing this week are a few Russulas that can take the dryness... Last week I was getting Trumpets and Cinnabars in these locations that are now dry... No wonder the rainy Septembers are really the start of some good shrooming...Hope this heat wave coming from across from the West doesn't destroy the Golden Chanterelle for months to come...Heat is a big killer of them...

I know what you mean. This time last year i picked 3 5 gallon buckets of chantrels in 2 spots. So far this year not a one to be seen. Even the Wine Berry bushes have died. Very dry year.

We had a nice downpour a few days ago. We went down our driveway yesterday to look for trumpets and chants and the ground is bone dry. We found a bunch of mushrooms this time last year. We still have a gallon bag of dried yellow foots in the pantry. Gonna try to head over to the other side of the mountains tomorrow. It usually rains more there.

It's dry here as well just getting a shower once in a couple weeks have to water the garden every night. Calling for rain tonight and tomorrow only 30-40% chance. Have grass yet but the ground is hard as concrete.
Total flip of last years weather with everything flooded out.

Looks like this heavy rain storm coming across Pa going to help the shrooms... Get out there this week in your favorite places before the heat returns.. Start looking for the Lactarius volemus AKA's The Weeping Milk Cap.. The White Milky. The Orange Brown Lactarius
