I scraped a wasp nest off the side of my cabin and want to mount it to a plaque and wanted to know how to do it. And yes, it is empty. The back side is flat and you can see the different layers. I thought it would be nice to mount it to a nice board and display inside. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Clear gorilla glue to a Plexiglas so you can see the backside

I think I would loop a length of stiff thread through the bulk of the nest entering from the rear of what you want to be the "show" side. Loop it through the heart of the nest with a curved stiff wire, as you would a needle, and bring it back out the rear. The lead end and the tag end of the thread can then be pulled through matching holes in the plaque and tied in the back of the plaque to snug the two together. I'd then spray it heavily with polyurethane to hold it together and still be able to view it clearly.

Good Idea

I've sprayed my Hornet Nests with women's Hair Spray. That works.
