this evenings storm was about three miles to my north.we had very few drops of rain,little bit of wind,but we could hear thunder.
i put my canon on movie mode, an set it in the window to catch some lightning strikes.not until i watched the movie,did i realize just how close these strikes came!
the last three strikes were about 30 yards behind the house.never did see them in real time!

Nice. I once had a strike hit a tree about 20 feet away from me and the force was so great it knocked a can of soda from my hands. Couldn't imagine what a direct hit would feel like.
