Is this a hen of the woods? If so how does everyone cook them? Thanks

I would say no,its kind of early.The earliest i have ever found them was the last week of august.You need a lot of rain and cooler temperatures.

No Hen, I believe it's a Umbellate Polypore. Go back to page 2 and look for PSUArcher's post What is This? The pictures of yours and his are almost the same.

Usually find hens toward the fall like peepsite said.
