I just purchased a Can Am Outlander 1000 Xt and was thinking about having them installed. They would be $200 for parts and labor. My question is do they work and are the worth the extra money. They also come with a heated thumb warmer for the throttle.

They work great! We have them on all our quads. I wouldn't pay $200 for them installed though. You can buy them for $30 to $50 and install them yourself. They are super easy to put in. They come prewired with the leads you need. It's only three wires to connect. 1/2 hour tops to put them in.

The Can Am grips alone are $185. They are plug n play ready for Can Am quads. Ill have to look at some alternatives, but i didnt want to have to splice modify anything electrical.

There are pair of wires with a connector under the speedo pod that the brp grips plug into. Just cut the connector off and splice the set of wires. They are for accessories and have their own separate fuse. The connector is white and is located down below the cvt screen filter. Just found this today on mine and will be installing a set of symtecs this weekend

They didn't come with heated hand grips already installed? When I bought my 2009 Outlander 800XT brand new it came with heated hand grips, lo/hi setting. Heated hand grips are great!
