Sorry if this is old news.

I recently read in the PA Outdoor News that PGC will discuss allowing Modern Muzzleloaders in the "Post Christmas Season", in certain Units that prohibit them now. I'm sorry I don't have more details I can't seem to find the paper. I don't think it will be restricted to does because they mentioned 5C,where you can slaughter does until the end of Jan. with anything now. (depending on area)

The only place they are allowed now are in the special regs area that also includes reg firearms. That,s the way it should stay.If they allow it in alot of our WMU,s their gonna have an out roar and it will ruin our heritage and our standing as the only state in the U.S.A.that still has a soley primitive flintlock only season.

Can the deer herd really hand another couple weeks of a blood bath like rifle season????? Allow inlines in FLINTLOCK season and the deer herd herd will crash...right now the season works and is low impact because some guys cant/wont/dont wanna shoot a flintlock and mess with it...inlines are stupid simple..might as well allow the smokeless inline too so they dont even have to clean em....

Might as well just add a couple weeks to rifle season..

I'm interested to see how many guys that pushed for and supported crossbows are gonna be against Inlines in the late season. Their logic of making it easier and getting more hunters out there is gonna backfire on them.

Absolutely no reason to include in-lines during the flintlock season.
You can take your in-line to a special regulation area if you want to use it in the late season.

Where in the paper did this article appear? The proposed agenda for the next meeting won't be posted for another week.

I'd want to verify just what the paper said and how it got it's information. The Commission won't like the crowd it gets if this is true.

Is this rumor just unsupported wishful thinking?

I can be present for the next meeting, if it turns out to be true. hurts that the comm. agenda comes out less than two weeks before the meeting. Not much time to mobilize opposition.

I supported crossbows, and still do. I strongly oppose inlines in our flintlock season, and will continue to do so.

Pennsylvania's archery season was made non-traditional in the mid-70's, as was nearly all archery seasons throughout the Country. The last remaining, semi-traditional season nationwide is, Pennsylvania's Flintlocks Only Season after Christmas. Keeping it that way is a no-brainer, logically.

Once again I am sorry, I looked for the paper again but it must have been tossed out.

There were two long articles about possible changes in deer seasons and possible changes in WMU's. They mentioned extending the bow season a week, metored youth minimum age etc. Also mentioned was the resizing of some units, 3D was mentioned, do to pockets of low deer density. What I posted was contained towards the end of one of those articles. They did mention names of who they interviewed but since I do not have the paper in hand I won't place the blame on any one person. These were "possible" topics of discussion and inclusion to the upcoming meeting, not the official agenda. The paper comes out twice a month,I think, and it was the last issue I received, end of Dec. maybe.
For the record I was just letting you know what might be comming down the road. I support the tradition of a flint lock season and do not want to see it changed. The doe slaughter I mentioned referred not to Flintlock season but to the multiple, long firearms doe seasons in 5C. I have no problem with removing does from the herd but not all of them.

The game commission is looking at the future, meaning younger people. Most of that age don't care about traditions and want everything easy. I see inlines becoming a reality in the future, I hope it stays flintlock though.

And there is absolutely no reason you can't still carry your traditional flintlock anyway. Nothing is stopping you from doing that if they allow inlines in the late season.

I'm against Inlines in all seasons. They may as well include single shot centerfire rifles as well. Using the crossbow supporters theories it only makes sense to include Inlines in the late season.
1- opens up opportunities for more hunters
2- who cares? As long as it's a legal sporting arm
3-not much different, both are fired by pulling a trigger
For the record, I hate Inlines and crossbows, but am leaning towards the Inlines to be included in the late season just to spite the guys that pushed for crossbow inclusion so hard.
