I have asked this question before on other sites but still seems kinda puzzling to me.Everyone says that using headphones with your MD increases battery life? Now i may be wrong but to me anyways i'd think the battery life would still be the same using them or not.Now i know when using them you can hear the deeper fainter signals but to me that's about all you gain from using them. Some will say the speaker has something to do with it but aren't you just replacing where the sound comes from and to me it's still the same as using the speaker meaning battery life is still the same.Rich

I never did a comparison test, but it always seemed that batteries did indeed last longer when using headphones.
You are certainly correct about being able to hear a faint signal better when using headphones.
One other advantage that you forgot to mention about headphones is that when you're using them you waste a LOT less time answering questions from the public.

Same here Diyasub, just "seems" like they last longer, have no proof to back it up though.

Amen on the questions, the last thing you should EVER do is go to a public area without headphones, for your own sake!

Don't really mind folks coming up to me at parks and asking questions.Sometimes it works out pretty good and you'll be able to get new leads to new areas that they may know about but most times it's just the general questions which i don't mind answering for them.Rich
