If you have fished Manada this year, did you notice an excessive amount of algae present in the stream? In years past, I cannot remember the stream exhibiting as much algae as it currently does, seems untypical to me.
I heard the other day about 20 people were trying to catch that one palamino. Most of the people were tracking it as it traveled downstream. And there was line everywhere and an old guy caught it.Double Lung 20 said:Them two palominos gone from old Rabbit? I can't imagine what it was like on the first day. Probably 20 guys huddled around a hole the size of my hot tub to catch a golden.
Well I think the old guy kept the palamino but there are a bunch of idiots there. They probaly spooked it down to the posted property.Double Lung 20 said:Hahahaha what a hoot. There were two there. So I guess they spooked it downstream through the woods?
I still can not believe how all that rain back in 2011, Ripped that hole there by the "Windowless House" apart!greenstang232 said:Woody,
I fished the same areas yesterday. I agree it seems to be in intermittent areas. Not to many fish left though. I caught 3 yesterday, including a wild brown. On Saturday, I caught a 21" palomino in the evening downstream from the bridge below the windowless house.
Your BIL fished next to me opening day last year. He came well after 8:00AM, probably closer to 10. We were there since 5 AM. We let him in beside us. But we have had some terrible encounters with rude anglers in that same hole when there were kids fishing there too. There are bad apples with every group of people, but first day trout anglers have more than others. Just look at all the corn cans, worm cans, skoal cans, and other litter left behind. It's sickening. That's why I avoid Manada at all costs, even if it costs me more in gas to drive elsewhere.treemouse said:Wife and me were down cleaning up around MIL's house on Sat. Wave after wave of people kept stopping at the Carlson Rd. bridge fishing. BIL used to sit below the bridge in his wheelchair fishing. Neighbor kept it mowed for him. They used to wade right in front of him. Some real class acts.
