Pine Grove Lodge in Maine is top notch. Bob Howse does a great job. The cost is reasonable and the lodging and dogs are very good as well.
I go every other year. My 10 year old son went with me last year and shot his first hare. Check out the website. http://www.pinegrovelodge.com

Miller's Guide Service in Northern NH
Several of us from the board go up there each spring.
We hunt semi guided but he has solid hounds and does fully guided as well.

About 8 hours from Scranton in Northern NH
Nice thing about NH is that you can hunt on Sundays and they have a really reasonable 3 day license.

Lots of areas on the east coast to run hares. West virginia has a decent amount in the Dolly sods area. I have hunted eastren Maine near Rangley and saddleback mountain. Lots of paper company grounds with miles and miles of pine and cedar thickest. Maine and UP Michigan would be my first choices. Usually travel to Mi at leat once a year. very cheap hunts if you have a couple guys to pitch in for fuel and lodging. You should have no trouble self guiding your hunt. Check on the american beagler page. you can usually hook up with some guys that just enjoy running there hounds and are willing to help a point a new guy in the right direction. If you are intrested in the up of mi I can point you into some nice public areas. It is kinda like grouse hunting, once you know what typ of cove to look for its pretty eay to get into hares.

It's about an 11 hr. drive from lebanon PA ,( 9 hrs. for you ?) with about 3 stops along the way.I went there back in 2001. great food, dogs are top notch. They ran a hare one day for 4 1/2 hrs.And then I missed it 10 ft away
you can take your own dogs and he'll put tracking collars on them.plenty of hare also.
