Anthony Arms is West Mifflin has classes. Not sure if they're specific to women or not though. The sportsmans club I belong to has a womens night once a month that I believe is specific to handguns. She would have to be a member though.
The Armstrong County Sheriff's department usually has one a year for women. I think it is held in May at a local sportsman club, possibly Burnt Ridge Bow & Gun in Cowansville.
Thanks for the input guy. she found 1 at green valley sportsmans club
The NRA "First Steps" is a great beginner course and if you go to the NRA website you can find clubs that have accredited instructors. My wife went through the Pitcairn Monroeville Club and was very pleased with it.

That's where I'm a member. I thought you had to be a member to do that class though? Is that not the case? Would certainly be a good thing if you didn't need to be a member since my girlfriend wants to take a class as well but isn't currently a member there.
NRA also has a program called "Women On Target" if you go to there website it gives the type of firearm and the range where the class will be held. I'm not sure of the cost but its pretty cheap. The price included instruction, ammo and weapon. and sometime lunch. My wife did sporting clays and the class took about 3 hrs. I wish her luck and I hope she has a good time

It was my impression that all NRA classes are required to be open to non-members of clubs sponsoring, too - I though I just read that on their site. Any classes I have seen have always been open to non-members.
Look up low speed high drag. Jay is a good guy

We are definitely not members. It was less than 50 dollars for 2 days I believe. Good course for her.

Jay may be a great guy, which I do agree with having spoken to him via phone, but unfortunately his classes are much more expensive than the basic NRA course. He himself also admits he has no real world experience beyond training and that began in 2006 or so. You'll also find mixed reactions on his training program but on his site of course it is only positive spin. 7 years of training courses doesn't pass my smell test for the type of instruction he is giving. This and 4 bucks may get you a latte but this type of thing is too important to me and my family to trust inexperience. Just my opinion after some research.
understand. you have to pick who you are comfortable with. another company i like is inpax sam is a good guy and lots of world experience not sure on his price but he is a good guy too. the NRA will be the cheapest but experience depends on the instructor.
I must add to my previous post that NRAs Women on Target program is a only a introduction into firearms safety and firing but a good one in my opinion. This is where you will find if the individual is comfortable shooting a gun at a reasonable price. Anywhere you go the instruction is only as good as the instructor.
