what a night i had,saw 35 turkey most of them longbeards, saw over 20 deer including 2 nice bucks, missed my 7th deer with the smokepole this year then right at dark i put the sneek on one and finally conected with my first flintlock deer,it ended up beeing a buttonbuck thou, but i still had a BLAST and he should be good eating.
This week when I have been sitting out in the evenings waiting for deer I often wonder how bad the hide would be if I were to see a fox and hit it with a 240 grain hollow point .45 bullet.
Congratulations GunnerDog!! ..Bunky..good one! LOL I know how you feel! I am going out tomorrow for the first time this season. Got my rifle and gear ready!
Flinter deer.....just like Lays Potato chips....ya can't stop at 1!! Congrats!!
Now that the seasons over we can all dream of next year and start discussing the methods, loads, good and bad ideas, problems, solutions etc. etc, all over again BUT.................GDog, you will never shoot that first one again.
44 days of hunting and my best was the last. 9 bucks, 3 shooters and a doe harvested. Too bad two of the big ones were missing a side (20 yards and 35 yards) and the third wouldnt stop as he ran by at 90 yards. Ended the season with 5 bucks in the food plot at 30 yards for an hour. Fighting the whole time. Awsome day! Shot a doe at 2pm. Live weight was 160 on the meat scale.
