I keep a fire rated safe in my dry basement. I have a rechargeable Remington dehumidifier and a golden rod in the safe. The door seal is not airtight. My question is would it be wise to better seal the door gap or forget about it? Thanks for any input.

You can also supplement with those dehumidifier crystal buckets you get at places like home depot or lowes. That's what I do. I have a golden rod and those. Just replace them every two months or so. Works like a charm.

Just make sure the liquid from that bucket does not ever come in contact with any gun metal!
