Re: Guide Services for Chesapeake Diver Ducks

I just got back from a 2 day diver hunt last week on the Chesapeake. 44 ducks in two days, fantastic hunting. This is my second trip with Black Duck Outfitters. They are under new ownership and i have already booked again for next year. Sorry i don't have two others since i have only used them but highly recommend it.

Headed down tonight to St. Michaels, MD. Will be hunting with "Livingston Waterfowlers" tommorrow.

Hunted MD the season before last with a different guide (unnamed). Definately would NOT go back to him.

Just alway looking for places to go and trying to find a "good" guide to constantly use.

Should prove to be interesting tomorrow ..... morning is to be 39-degrees .... Highs in the afternoon 55-degrees.

I only ever hunted with 2 over the last 10 seasons, so needless to say, i'm happy with them. Alan Poore, doesn't need any referals that I know of, I have been hunting with him for 10 years. Incredible guy and guide. Blades guide service is another. Bert blades is the Capn./owner, same here, trust both with my life or wife, all I can say. I believe Bert is on facebook and has a site, Alan doesn't.

Over the years had our ups and downs, but surely not for lack of trying and hard work by the guides, mostly the stinking weather. I'm hunting with them this Mon/Tue. and next Mon/Tue. 100% recommended. Both are born and bred in the St. Michaels/Tilghman area. Divers, geese , or sea ducks, whatever you want to do with them, both are set up for all.

I don't worry about booking year by year, the last Monday and Tuesday of the season are my days, no matter what date they fall on. Fortunatlly for me, my other group of buddies have the Monday and Tuesday before me, every year. works out good.

Re: Guide Services for Chesapeake Diver Ducks

Just a follow up on my hunt with Livingston Waterfowlers. Our trip was awesome on Wednesday, January, 9, 2013.

We killed 23 ducks! Just one shy of a 4 man limit. We saw 8 different species of ducks and shot/killed 4 of those species. Our mixed bag included; Scaup (both greater & lessers), Buffleheads, Redhead, & Mallard. We did see a bull Can. Unfortunately, ....... He was just outside our shooting range by 10-12 yds. Other duck species we saw were; Oldsquaws, Goldeneyes, & one Surf Scoter.

If you're thinking about booking a trip to the Eastern Shore, St. Michaels, MD, I highly recommend giving Bill Livingston a call. Our guides name was, Roger. His boat, dekes, & his dog Logan were top notch.
