Hunters,

Now that the Grouse season is almost over...
Has anyone flushed, seen, or even shot a Grouse in Washington or Greene Counties? This season or even last season?
Don't tell where, just want to know if it has been done.

I ask the same question all the time, don't hear of any in Washington County, if they are in Greene it isn't many.

I've flushed about 4 this year on one trip down there. Washington that is.

I had 2 or 3 flushes everyday while walking with my flinlock deer hunting this season in Washington County. My buddy normally gets a couple every year while hunting with his dog.

I didn't hunt Greene County this year, but I took an ofer on grouse in Washington County. Had quite a few timberdoodle flushes, but not a single thunder chicken. Very similar to last year's results.

Don't know why, but I do know I'll be heading north for grouse this Saturday - and probably next fall.

So that is where that Washington County grouse when. We have been trying to create habitat for them in my area and don't plan on hunting them until the population increases to a reasonable count.
