It sure looked from the camera angle that he should have had a great quartering from shot when the bear first topped out just above the brush below them, but evidently the issue was that the hunter, laying prone, did not have a sight picture because of the curvature of the hill and grass he was looking through. If he'd been a few feet forward, he'd have had an excellent killing shot at that point. After that, when the bear moved right to left across the hill and they had to hustle around that brush, it was a cluster and best he held fire.Boy, did they screw up on that first bear.
