Great Hunting Videos

I just thought I'd pass this along to everyone. There are not very many tv hunting shows that I care to watch anymore. I like to watch Meateater because Steven Rinella portrays things as they actually are and he always cooks and eats what he got. For some reason, I kinda like to watch Roger Raglin because he reminds me of sitting around and telling hunting stories with my grandgather. He is a simple, but honest and truthful guy and I like that about him.
Beyond those two, there is nothing that I watch.

But I have found a Youtube channel that I am REALLY liking. It is Billy Molls Modern Day Mountain Man. He is from Wisconsin, but is an Alaskan hunting guide and makes good videos of most of his hunts. He has quite a few videos and IMHO they are outstanding at giving you a glimpse of what these hunts are really like. Some of them are two hours long or have multiple parts to them. He hunts caribou, moose, dall sheep, grizzlies and brown bears.

If you are looking for something somewhat different to watch, give these a try. I bet you will enjoy them.

There are not many hunting videos of any kind that I recommend. But I recommend this guy for a reason. He is good. Seems like he is releasing more videos as time goes on also. I bet you could learn quite a bit from spending some time with him.

Watched it in it's entirety, what an exciting hunt, but it was much more than that. (y)

Right now, my personal favorites are all Youtubers:
The Hunting Public
Hal Blood
Jeff Doyle (Tracking 200)
and The Hunting Beast

Very informative, instructional hunting videos for beginners to experienced.
You're right @buckman4c . I also agree with you.

Boy, did they screw up on that first bear. But that's what I like. He shows reality and not some edited, sugar coated crap.

It sure looked from the camera angle that he should have had a great quartering from shot when the bear first topped out just above the brush below them, but evidently the issue was that the hunter, laying prone, did not have a sight picture because of the curvature of the hill and grass he was looking through. If he'd been a few feet forward, he'd have had an excellent killing shot at that point. After that, when the bear moved right to left across the hill and they had to hustle around that brush, it was a cluster and best he held fire.

They could have whacked it before it even got that close. Then when it was open and the hunter didn't see it to the left. Just not meant to be. What a shame to let an 8 footer get away. They'll look over a few bears to find another interior griz like that. Tough to feel too sorry for him after seeing the moose that he got.

Definitely add Leatherwood to your list! Great quality videos, shot right here in PA, and John is an occasional poster on these forums!

Billy Molls is the best, hands down! Always been a dream of mine to hunt for Dall sheep and moose, but it'll have to remain that as the price of these hunts are too rich for my bank account.

On Youtube, check out Hal Blood Big Woods Bucks. Filmed mostly in Maine, he looks for a buck track in the snow and follows it until he catches up with it. The first one I watched, he tracked a buck for 2 days before he got it. He's a good tracker and a humble man.

I know the hunter in that Alaskan moose video. He lives down the road from me, maybe two miles.

Saw a guy on tv a few years ago who was a dog man hunting birds. He was an older gentleman who was sponsored by a company that made gun safes that fit in the bed of a pickup, and his first name might have been Scott. I watched two shows, both were excellent, and at the end of each show he told how many hits and how many misses were made.
Anybody know who he might have been?
