Great Hunting Videos

I just thought I'd pass this along to everyone. There are not very many tv hunting shows that I care to watch anymore. I like to watch Meateater because Steven Rinella portrays things as they actually are and he always cooks and eats what he got. For some reason, I kinda like to watch Roger Raglin because he reminds me of sitting around and telling hunting stories with my grandgather. He is a simple, but honest and truthful guy and I like that about him.
Beyond those two, there is nothing that I watch.

But I have found a Youtube channel that I am REALLY liking. It is Billy Molls Modern Day Mountain Man. He is from Wisconsin, but is an Alaskan hunting guide and makes good videos of most of his hunts. He has quite a few videos and IMHO they are outstanding at giving you a glimpse of what these hunts are really like. Some of them are two hours long or have multiple parts to them. He hunts caribou, moose, dall sheep, grizzlies and brown bears.

If you are looking for something somewhat different to watch, give these a try. I bet you will enjoy them.

Thanks, I'll look for it. I love Meateater too for the same reasons you do. Another show you might enjoy is Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg, he's 100% Public Land DIY. Beyond those 2 shows there aren't many worth watching. I do really enjoy F&T's Freedom Outdoors, even though I don't trap.

As a kid, I did a lot more fishing than hunting but I wasn't much into the Bass shows. When In-Fisherman started a TV show that was must watch for me and my dad. And we coveted their magazine. And whenever we could find Bill Saif's Rod & Reel TV and especially Rod & Reel Streamside.

Got away from Hunting shows for quite some time now, couldn't take them anymore.

For turkey hunting watch claycomb outdoors on youtube. My favorite.

Billy Molls video are very good. They are the most enjoyable videos that I have watched. I just got the mountain hunting addiction with a mountain goat and dall sheep hunt booked for the next two years followed by a moose hunt with my youngest son.

They are just well put together and real which makes for a very enjoyable watch.

Jeff Doyle (Tracking 200)
and The Hunting Beast

Very informative, instructional hunting videos for beginners to experienced.

I watch a good bit of Randy Newberg. Also used to watch a guy called Hunt Simple, but he has discontinued his channel. All of his videos are still posted though. A simple and common sense approach to things.

He doesn't hunt for himself at all. He even stated in one of his videos that he has never personally taken a piece of game in Alaska. He is just a guide who videos the hunts that he guides.

And they are very good.

If you guys want to watch a fantastic hunting video, watch the Billy Molls Modern Day Mountain Man episode titled: Spirit of a Sheep Hunter, Brooks Range Dall Sheep Hunting. It is an hour and 37 minutes long, but it is great. Very realistic of how these hunts can go. Best one I've watched yet.

I will check them out. It seems to me the hunting shows today have turned into shows about me me me and more me!
I don’t want to watch you driving to your spot in the dark talking talking and talking. Or talking after you parked or watch you walk and talk to your spot. I don’t care about your story or your family. Just hunt!!!
THP is leaves crunching and talking and 2 minutes of the hunt.
I’m pretty much sick of all hunting shows but I like the sounds of this one. I’ll check it out.

The son and I watched one of his episodes last night. It is one of the best hunting shows I've seen in a long time.

Glad you liked it. Watch that one I mentioned - Spirit of a sheep hunter-Brooks Range dall sheep hunting. IMHO, it is the very best hunting video that I've ever watched.

Anybody that likes watching turkey hunts ought to check out the Pinhoti project. He's like a one man southern version of the hunting public and he only turkey hunts. He's also a grand national champion caller and gives lots of tips and whatnot, so I find it educational and entertaining.
