Hello!

We recently just redid our dam on our pond which was failing. My question is what type of grass or clover, which would benefit the wildlife, but will have a root system that would help stabilize the dirt on the dam? The dam receives a large majority of sun and a PH soil test will be done prior to planting.

Furthermore, I was thinking of planting a nut bearing tree somewhere near the dam/waters edge for woodducks. Any suggestions on a fast producing nut tree that woodducks would enjoy?

Thanks in advance!

I put white clover on the top of the dam and crown vetch on the sides. Deer like the clover, and the crown vetch is easy to maintain without having to mow it often.
