what is a good rod to buy for skippin jigs and plastics under tree cover. i'm after spinning tackle only. would like something stiff for good solid hooksets in deeper water.
also want to spend around $60
I know everyone has opinions so be gentle
I have a few Berkley lightning IM6 rods for around $40...
Maybe a 6' or 6'6" med w/ fast action ...I prefer med/hvy with fast action... but 100% of the time when im throwing jigs, Ill use a Heavy 7 or 7'6" baitcaster
I'd go with 7' minimum if you're fishing from a boat (sounds like you are).. easier to keep the rod tip low to the water throughout the cast.. As far as action it's going to depend if you're throwing heavy stuff or not.. but MH with a spinning reel should do the trick for most cases..
thanx guys. I think i'll go with around 6'6" or better med.heavy fast action. probably bps qualifier since I have them for baitcasting and love em.
