Headed to Wind Gap (Eastern PA) show today. It's kinda small, only 150 tables, but it's a nice venue. I'm quite broke due to customers slow paying me, but I'm going anyways. What else would you do on a cold Saturday in February?

See you There!

Prices were crazy high, even worse than "the new normal". 1000.00 for 1000.00 rounds of 223 garden variety.

Yes, that's a dollar a round, as purchased by the case? Wha??

Everything else was just as bad. AR's started at 1500.00 and went as high as 2450.00, garden variety.

I did find colt 30's for 15 bucks each, bought a few. Most AR mags were going for 25 to 30, used/vs new.

It was quite embarrassing to see all the gouging.

For fun, afterward we went to Sarco, and that place next door. There was a Bushmaster, new for $990.00 which is what they were selling them for all along. Me and my buddy thought about doing the flip deal, but we both spent soooo much money in the last 30 days. We walked away from it. I spent less than 200$ today on odds and ends.

It was still better than staying home on a cold Saturday!

Buying a gun to flip without an FFL is against the law. It makes you a dealer. I am just throwing that out there as a FYI because in the current climate I see post after post like the one above me and we don't need to have anyone run afowl of the law.

I guess you are more privy to law than I, but buying, then selling a gun is illegal then?

If I bought a gun today, then sold it tomorrow, for no good reason, is illegal? Really?

If I buy a gun, and then sell it with all proper paperwork is legal.

You buy ONE gun, then sell it, then you need an FFL?

Thanks for your information.

People buy and sell guns all the time, with the necessary paperwork...so how long do they have to own it before selling it to be ok with you? or the ATF?

Spare me.

This post was to be informative about a gun show, and fun stuff...not about trolls playing ATF.

What if I told you I have an FFL? Would that make it OK?

I bought Jerky at the show. Is that ok without a permit?

Jeesh.

Are you telling me that every person that bought a gun, then sold it at a profit or a loss after the fact needs an 01 ffl?

Seriously?

Get real. What's the waiting period on that ????? 3 days? 7? 30?

If I buy a gun, with what legal means is necessary then sell it that afternoon is LEGAL. For example, I buy a gun at a show or auction, then turn to the guy next to me that says "hey, I want that" with the proper whatever....and I agree to the terms, it's theirs.

You just live your life, and I'll do mine. I'll take your information with a grain of salt. I follow the letter of the law, and I'm fine with that.

You are WRONG. Glad I'm not doing business with you WV Sir.

sir, buying a gun & then selling it does not make you a dealer under ATF rules.
HOWEVER, selling it for a profit DOES make you a dealer under the ATF guidelines.
just a FYI..............

What did I miss? A tirade like that after someone offering advice/point of view? What you described wyomingcounty does sound illegal without a FFL. But I'm just an average, honest law abiding gun owner so I'm not sure. In this climate do you really want to risk criminality by doing something stupid?

I did not know that. It has been my understanding that an FFL engagement in a firearms sale was only required when a firearm was shipped with the intent to sell or when a handgun purchase was involved. But what you are saying is that any firearm sale (curio or long gun) is sold for a profit then the transaction mut be through an FFL. Is my understanding correct?

OK, so as long you sell a gun at a loss then it's OK?

I'll stick to what I'm stickin to.

So, so you saying I buy a gun, then sell it 5 minutes, or 5 years later, and I get more than I paid for it I need a license? Wow....if that's the case there's a lot of folks out there breaking the law!

Very funny.
I'll just make SURE that I never make any profit, ever, then it'll be legal. I forgot, profit is not allowed.
I pay full price, go thru necessary background check, and pay the sales tax...What would ever make me think I can go and turn around and sell it? I'm so silly.

What is this .....Socialism?

Let me get this straight...as long as every gun I every buy I keep it forever....AND if I HAD to sell like at my death, as long as I didn't make a profit, then I don't need a license....Right?

On a serious note, does anyone else see the silliness of this argument? I do. You believe what you want, as will I.

cap·i·tal·ism noun \ˈka-pə-tə-ˌliz-əm, ˈkap-tə-, British also kə-ˈpi-tə-\

Definition of CAPITALISM

: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

Buy and sell, 2 minutes later or 2 years later. Yes, a silly argument.
