Individuals who are interested in a law enforcement career should consider the field of natural resources where exciting opportunities await them as Wildlife Conservation Officers. Once known as Game Wardens, wildlife conservation professionals dedicate their lives to enforcing the laws that protect our natural resources and regulate outdoor recreation.

Before pursuing this career path, candidates should consider both the attraction of working outdoors as well as the inherent dangers of this profession. If you have the ability to rise to such demands and fit into a paramilitary lifestyle, then you may have what it takes to become a Pennsylvania Wildlife Conservation Officer. The following information and video is provided to assist you in deciding if you have what it takes to succeed in this demanding, but extremely gratifying career.

The Wildlife Conservation Officer exam opens March 6, 2013. Information regarding the exam can be found on the Civil Service Commission website at www.scsc.state.pa.us. Look under the "Job Seekers" tab for the announcement information which will include the minimum experience and training for the job.

Good luck!

That said, remember, some of the people wearing that uniform started the path from an announcement just like this... off HPA.

It can happen.
