It has not been all that long ago that the following two photos would have been very rare indeed. Yesterday (9/2) we took a cruise down Lake Raystown to the breast of the impoundment (I can't say dam) looking for eagles and ospreys. We had over twenty sightings of ospreys and a half dozen of eagles, but getting close enough to get good photos is certainly a challenge. In this first photo, I snapped the picture just as the eagle was taking flight. I love the way it turned out.


In this second photo, a great blue heron is perched on top of a small tree (lower left) and an osprey is perched on the snag (upper right). They were looking at each other.

Cool pics.

We see them below the spillway occasionally.
