At what point should I have known 'Here's your Sign?'
Take the day off and it is raining but still go hunting.
Stop at sheetz for breakfast and realize it is Friday the 13th and my bill comes to $6.66.
Settle into my hunting spot and hear 1 gobbler on the roost and 2 pheasants in the field. After 2 hours it hits me and I have to go and go now and realize that I just have 1 square! That is of the half sheets of paper towels; forgot to reload the supply the other day. Walking out I felt something in my boot and could not figure out why the discomfort because they were tight and nothing could have slipped in them. Well as I stepped on a stone the pain got sharper; yes there was a thorn in my sole that now went slightly into my foot. Removed and its all out. Decided to try another spot and while driving down the road a tree was across the road. Now decided to go to another spot, get there and I can see that someone else was there and left; still go out. Walking up the tractor trail I see 2 hens walking across the field and into the woods. I setup in the field. At 10:30 a opossum walks through my decoys and then I see a gobbler at full strut at 80 yards; he just puts on a show and won't come in. Leave at 11:50 and see a hen on my way out. Get to the truck and my gun slips hits my truck and puts a dent and scratch in the side.
I guess on the bright side I did see 4 birds and got to and from safely. The best news is tomorrow is the 14th!
Rough day!! hope it got better for ya. I lean mine on my tire a lot of times when putting my vest or jacket in the truck. Nothing wrong with leaning a unloaded gun on your truck.
If you read it a couple times you realize he says " Get to the truck and my gun slips hits my truck and puts a dent and scratch". That could mean anything. How does a gun leaning on a truck put a dent?? These internet police on here need to relax and stop jumping down everyone's throat all the time.
