Headed out to Bedford county today and met up with HPAer Gentleben. After helping with some boundary survey work we went over to the local bird hunting preserve. Turned the springer,s loose and ended the day with 10 pheasant,s in the bag with many more seen. A great day for the dog,s and the shooter,s!

I think the best part of the hunt was that the sorghum we hunted was somewhat flattened by last week's storm and we totally could not see the dogs to tell if they were " birdy" or not. Every flush was a total surprise, including one that rose like a woodcock. I hit one that made it across the creek before hitting ground. Too much water for us, but the springer ( Tucker) did his job and took a swim to retrieve it. Great day afield with a great friend and his dogs.
