People like this are just the ones that get caught, there are plenty more that do not. However, I bet this body count was way higher than they admitted to. Whatever they do with these idiots, it will not be enough.

I hope they get more than the usual slap on the wrist.

They will loose their hunting license for a few years, yea, like that's going to stop them. Most likely they have been arrested in the past and will in the future

Kudos to all the people who reported them an thanks to the game wardens who put in a lot of time to catch them.

Exactly! They need to pay a hefty fine, and get a jail sentence that's measured in months ,not days!

When you say you did it for "fun" is surely disturbing . Sounds like kill for thrill mentality. Not surprised by this because our society is not what it used to be.

This action of just going out for a night, or even many nights, of thrill shooting then driving looking for the next target is a lot more common than most people would ever expect or believe. I touched on a couple of them in one of my books, when we were able to bring a few of them to justice.

But, believe me when I tell you there were many others, when we had a lot of dead deer over a few weeks, but just couldn't develop enough evidence to prosecute anyone. Usually we were able to develop a good list of suspects, and even question some of them the evidence needed for conviction, usually, just wasn't there.

The thrill of the kill...they all need mental evaluations.stripped of hunting for there lifetime an not to own a firearm period.do jail time for each count.get counseling.an work doing community service.doing habitat restoration. Plus fines...if your going to do the crime..don't cry about the time an take your licks. I have no good feelings towards poachers...there the worst of the worst.

I can think of a lot of elements in society worse than poachers.

Someone posted that “ poachers were the worst of the worst”. I can think of a lot of things worse than poaching.

The dangerous elements in society. Child molesters, child abusers, rapists, those committing assaults against others, drug manufacturers and dealers, wife beaters, murders, armed robbers, car jackers, home invaders, crimes against the elderly, burglars , smash and grab robbers….anyone committing crimes against other people.

At our local hospital, the CFO embezzled $1.4 million dollars. Her husband was also charged…he was a detective for the county. They used the money to buy a dirt bike race park….they still own it.

Several years ago, a Butler County Judge‘s son was charged with 200+ counts of possession of child pornography. In spite of being found guilty, he spent no time in jail.

Some years back, a nut job held his mother at gun point in a house trailer beside a mine I was running. Held her hostage when a warrant was served on him….dozens of police at scene, went on all day. The mine road got shut down, we had to idle operations for two shifts. I saw the offending nut job the next week coming out of the UniMart. He never served any time for that incident.

It plays out over and over. Someone is arrested for a horrendous crime….and the reports come out of their recent serious criminal activity. Why they weren’t still incarcerated for those crimes is anybody’s guess.

The way I see it, until the courts get serious about finding prison space for those who do harm to other folks, and keeping them there for a lengthy sentence, there’s not much of a priority in locking up poachers.

I feel you are 100% wrong. I arrested a lot of the people you described above. Do you not think that poachers are the same criminals you describe? These poachers commit the same crimes you describe. Poachers also are pedophiles, rapists, burglars, robbers, and any other crime you describe. You need to get with the times my man. These poachers are all the criminals you listed and they commit all those crimes along with poaching. They are the scourge of society and poaching is no different than them breaking into your house and making you a victim. A criminal will always be a criminal regardless if he shoots a 100 deer or breaks into your camp after he shot deer in your field.
