Well deserved! Congratulations, Chaplain(Fr.)Kapaun!

Chaplain gets Medal of Honor 62 years after death

"Emil Kapaun didn't need a medal to prove his heroism, but this recognition is very important to the men who served with him and to the families of the many other POWs who never came home,"

I read up on Fr Kapaun a few years ago because one of the Air Force installations here in Germany is named after him. At the time I didn't know he was being considered for the MoH, but he surely deserves it!

There is another Catholic chaplain, from the Vietnam war, that received the Medal of Honor, Fr Capodanno.
Both are also being considered for Sainthood.

I have, still do, talked with a lot of chaplains that have been deployed. It is amazing what some of them will do for their people!

Awesome story, He sounds like Saint material to me, I hope he gets it. He reminds me of St. Maximilian Kolbe, a Priest who died in the concentration camps in WW2 giving his life for another prisoner
