I was going through my photo disks today and found a disk full of hens and poults and several shots of a Pileated Woodpecker I had taken last year.
Here are two that I have completed editing and matting.

Cant wait to see these little fellas again!



In this photo the woodpeckers mouth was so stuffed with wood and carpenter ants he was choking. I f you look close you will see his tongue hanging out and how swollen it is under his lower beak. He finally yucked it up and went back to feeding.

The Pileated Woodpecker is really awesome to see in the woods.
I had a pair hangin' around me during bear and deer season this year. Their daily rituals were like clockwork.
