Just curious how many of you duck hunters enjoy making your own decoys?? i have carved 3 so far and they are pretty fun to do and fairly easy. Cant wait to shoot some ducks over them. This is my first blue bill , burlapped and ready to be painted...

get the foam from home depot its the pink insulation foam its very easy to carve and the mastic and burlap makes the decoys stronger and able to be ruffed up a bit.

Any place you know where I can get some insight into how to carve the foam. A diagram or something.

best two websites i would look at would be workingdecoys.net and duckhuntingchat.com (search through foamers), as far as carving the foam i just use a little rotary tool i got at harbor freight tools for 10 bucks. there are many different ways to do it. do lots of research before you get started it will help tremendously.

yep as long as you take the proper steps and either burlap them or trestle coat, as well as priming with kilz2.
