I was invited to go on an Archery hunt in 5B this weekend. According to the season and bag limits on the PGC website, "WMUs 5A and 5B – CLOSED TO FALL TURKEY HUNTING" . Do I need to wear an FO hat while moving since this area DOES NOT HAVE A CONCURRENT FALL TURKEY SEASON? When you read page 70 in the book, a florescent orange hat is required in those areas that have a concurrent fall turkey season. It says nothing about hunting in areas that do not.

You read the Digest correctly.

Archery Deer/Archery Bear Season:
(During Overlap with Fall Turkey Season)
When hunting in an area with a concurrent fall turkey
season, a hat containing a minimum of 100 square inches
of solid fluorescent orange must be worn when moving.
The hat may be removed when archer is stationary or on stand.

Since 5B does NOT have a concurrent Fall Turkey Season you do NOT need Fluorescent Orange for Archery Deer. However, at all HTE Courses the PGC stills points out that you are better safe than sorry and it never hurts to wear your orange.

I hope that you have a fun, safe and successful hunt.
